About | Juniper & Stone
Creative retreats for an inspired life.
Art, culture, nature & yoga in far away places.
Juniper & Stone fosters and facilitates inspired living by way of travel, art and movement. As world travelers and certified teachers, we lead immersions and events around the globe sharing our practices.
We create experiences of freedom, non-judgment and healing,
where movement and creativity are vehicles for exploring inner truth and strength.
The Name "Juniper & Stone":
Junipers, which grow from a trunk that twists and flows up to the sky, represent growth through movement and cultivating natural strength. Subsequently, Stone represents an element of grounding and peace. Combined, Juniper & Stone seeks to create experiences that explore inner truth and strength through movement and creativity.
A Note from the Founder, April Nemeth:
If you have been following my journey you know at least one thing: I care. Deeply. I care about every one of you and this land I am lucky enough to lay my feet on. I believe you are a part of me and I of you.
If you are just being introduced to Juniper & Stone for the first time: Welcome. Let me tell you a bit about the journey to bring you the company.
From as far back as I can remember, I have been a truth seeker. As a child, following our nightly meditation, I would wake up and join my mama outside on the back porch for hot water with lemon and early morning sunshine. We would immediately indulge in philosophical conversations about all things existential. Life, death, the Universe and our purpose. This was after she read my horoscope and asked me, “how were your dreams?”. My parents never really cared for societal norms. In fact, they have spent their entire lives rebelling against them and creating their own “normal”. We were taught that education and new experiences within nature were always more important than things because “you cannot take things with you...”. My brother and I were sent to good schools and were able to travel often and explore the world, sleeping in tents in national parks and exploring the most uninhabited locations. Modern hippies. It was then that travel became a part of my soul.
I also had art. I was born needing to create. My mama noticed this at an early age and has fostered it through out my entire life, as she is an artist herself. We would paint portraits of each other outside, under blue skies and take everyday objects like our living room lamps and splatter them with paint. I enjoyed the practice so much I earned a MA/BFA degree in art and design. Art is also my main form of meditation.
Yoga is very much like art to me. A training of the mind and a vehicle for tuning in. My spiritual practice started deepening much more in 2008 when I launched my first business, Little Korboose, and my career in design and creative direction began taking off full steam.
Indirectly or directly, the life long journey to find my truth and live an inspired life was cultivated in me from the very beginning ...and it will never end. I am a student of life, constantly seeking growth, change and understanding. I am curious and love to experience new things all in the name of truth and honoring myself, which is not always easy.
While your own personal truth can only be found inside, there are powerful vehicles in which to explore. During our time together, in coordination with my team, I will guide you on adventures all over the globe. We will take you through meditation and yoga classes in combination with art, creating space to tune in and listen to your inner knowing. We will connect with nature and go off the tourist track to discover new places and blow your world view open in the most beautiful way imaginable. If you are open to following your flow, you will meet sides of yourself you didn’t know existed and affect the world in ways you never knew possible. Experience the journey...With Gratitude,
